Celebrating 60 years in business Clarke’s Fresh Fruit continues to provide superior produce for the consumer. Owner and Director Pat Clarke started the business modestly in 1960 when he planted 10 drills of strawberries on the family farm in Stamullen. Realising a substantial increase in his pocket money he soon increased his plot to an acre.

With dedication and attention to detail he increased production again and five years later the fruit was being auctioned on the Dublin Market, claiming best prices.

Today Pat and an experienced team produce 75 acres of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries from May to November.

Over 170 people are employed in the business and the most advanced mechanisation and technology is used across all aspects of production while working in close harmony with natural resources.

The quality berries are available in major retailers and many independent outlets throughout the country and from the farm shop.

A key element of the success of Clarke’s Fresh Fruit has been continual innovation and a strong commitment to staff training to enhance the flavour and freshness of the fruit. From “plant to plate” best methods in growing and harvesting are applied daily. Crops are monitored closely and the award-winning berries are selected by hand and graded carefully to ensure best quality appears on the shelves.

The company takes pride in the art of stem-picking their strawberries. The stem of each berry is carefully nipped to avoid bruising and to preserve the integrity and freshness of the fruit.

The superior produce is Bord Bia Quality Assured through strict auditing measures. This badge of honour claims high recognition and promotes a culture of trust and loyalty in the food industry. Bord Bia continually aims to put wholesome fruit at the “centre of the plate” when considering a balanced diet based on natural, seasonal food.
